We have more than a dozen themed itineraries to help you plan your tours to Lake County!

Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and its Scholl College Feet First Museum are hidden gems.

Originally known as The Chicago Medical School, it was founded in 1912 and moved to its Lake County location in 1980.  Twenty-two years later, the school merged with the Scholl College.   Also, in 2002, the University named itself after the celebrated British researcher Dr. Rosalind Franklin, who is famous for capturing "Photograph 51" in 1952 that first revealed its double-helix structure of DNA.  Dr. Franklin's story is fascinating as you will learn when you visit the campus.

The Scholl College Feet First Museum is dedicated to the story podiatric medicine and the career of Dr. William M. Scholl.  Dr. Scholl revolutionized footwear across the world and was a master at marketing and development of foot care products.

Tours for both the university and museum are FREE to tour groups!  These educational tours are great for student groups and educational tours.  Combine your tours with a lunch at Lovell’s of Lake Forest where you can discover another pioneer – Capt. James Lovell, the heroic commander of ill-fated Apollo 13.  This former astronaut and his family own a beautiful restaurant in the lovely North Shore area of Lake County.
