The new Lake County Fielders announce their 2010 schedule and group ticket information!
I can’t tell you how many times I have seen the movie “Field of Dreams” however on a recent trip to the actual field in Dyersville Iowa, I scored high on the movie trivia quiz. I think the appeal of the movie is the desire for a simpler time which beckons us all at some point. Therefore we were very excited to learn that co-owners Kevin Costner (the actor) and Rich Ehrenreich (Schaumburg Flyers) decided that northeastern Illinois needed a minor league baseball stadium and team. Why battle the city traffic at Wrigley Field or pay the high prices for tickets at Miller Park or U.S. Celluar Field? Enjoy the quaint setting of Zion, Illinois and cheer on the Fielders in comfort.
Just this past week, the Fielders announced that opening day will be Friday, June 11, 2010. Group tickets (25-99 pp.) start at $5 for lawn seating up to $14 for premier box seats. Amenities include a video board recognition/P.A. mention during the game, group member gift, 10% coupon for merchandise and opportunity for customized group outing merchandise.
The Lake County Fielders offer many different group packages for any budget and need such as: All-You-Can-Eat, Baseball Buddies, Party Patios and more. Be part of the opening season of the Lake County Fielders and revisit a simpler time – baseball at its best.
The Popcorn Factory store is open!
The Popcorn Factory in Lake Forest has been a part of gift-giving and munching for 30 years. Now a member of the 1-800-FLOWERS family, they recently reopened their factory store. I am quite familiar with the store as it was my weekend job during the holidays years ago. So I can truly say that I know the products very well; the quality and service is excellent.
Free stops always help stretch your clients’ dollar. And this truly is a local business as the popcorn is popped in the same building. There isn’t a factory tour but your group can sample such interesting popcorn flavors as deep dish pizza, buffalo ranch, favorites such as white cheddar and seasonal flavors like caramel apple (to die for) and cranberry popcorn. The staff offers your group plenty of time to browse and take care of any purchases. The Popcorn Factory is a great place to pop into!
