The Great Lakes Naval Station 4th of July Celebration is again open to the public. There will be live music, food, refreshments, entertainment, kids' crafts, a carnival and more for the entire family to enjoy. Eddie Money will perform in the evening, followed by a spectacular fireworks display in front of the historic Clock Tower.
The annual Scoopin' Genesee classic car show will be held July 10 - 11 in historic downtown Waukegan. Scoopin' Genesee features a parade of classic cars for vehicles 1980 or older, car & cycle shows and kids' fest. Enjoy free music entertainment at night, 8 Miles South is on stage Friday night and Rare Earth on Saturday night.
The 12th annual Lincolnshire Fine Art Festival features 150 juried artists set up along the grounds of Lincolnshire's Village Green dining and shopping area. The festival will also include live entertainment, food and family activities.
History comes to life at the Lake County Forest Preserves' 18th annual Civil War Days at the Lake County Discovery Museum in Wauconda. It's the largest Civil War re-enactment in Illinois attracting 5,000 visitors from Illinois and surrounding areas.
The 81st annual Lake County Fair will be held at its new location this year on Peterson Rd. in Grayslake, IL July 28 - August 2. This year's fair features the Budweiser Clydesdales, livestock shows, queen pageants, truck and tractor pulls, talent contests, amusement rides, a beer garden and much more. The live entertainment will showcase Mellencougar and Blake Shelton.
