Illinois Beach State Park stretches for 6 ½ miles along the shoreline of Lake Michigan from Waukegan to the Wisconsin state line.  The 4,160 acre state park is recognized for its geological structure, unique flora, spectacular beauty and recreational opportunities. The park offers a campground, full service resort, camp store, picnic areas, hiking and biking trails, swimming, boating and fishing. 

Head to the northwestern corner of Lake County and you will run into Chain O’ Lakes State Park.  With 6,000 acres, the park strives to conserve and enhance the existing land, water, fish and wildlife resources while providing optimum camping, picnicking, and hiking, biking, boating, fishing and hunting. The Chain O' Lakes conservation area borders three lakes; Grass, Marie, and Nippersink, plus the Fox River.

Arts & Crafts, Civil War re-enactment, a huge parade, and fireworks show are all happening Labor Day Weekend at Zion’s 59th Annual Jubilee Days Festival on Saturday September 1st – Monday September 3rd.  There will be food booths, Illinois largest Labor Day Parade, Full Score Orchestra Concert and plenty of fun for the entire family. Jump aboard the trolley for a pleasant ride through Zion.

Step back to the 50s at Miller's Dog N' Suds Drive-In in Ingleside. This restaurant has the All-American classics such as double cheeseburgers, Coney dogs and draft root beer. Car hops serve frosted mugs of root beer to you in your car or at their picnic area, and this summer features Saturday Nite Cruise-In.
