Thousands of beautiful plants, trees, formal display gardens and crystal clear flowing waterfalls. Does this place sound fascinating to you? The Chicago Botanic Garden is 385 acres of natural wonder.
Whether it is your first visit or you have been there many times, there is always something new to see.
If you want a cheap and exquisite place to go, then head on over to the Botanic Garden. It is open from 8am to sunset all year long. So you can explore the garden all day. The greatest thing about it is the amazingly reasonable prices. You won’t believe it, but the admission is absolutely free! The only thing you have to pay for is the parking. To park your vehicle, it only costs $20.00 per car, $25 per van and $60 per limousine, mini bus or RV. The best thing is if you become a member, your parking and admission are free.
Along with the cheap parking, the Chicago Botanic Garden has awesome scenery. The vivid colors of the flowers will light up your day. There are flower shows where you can show off your gardening talents or learn new ones. In every season at the garden, there are activities to do and programs to attend. If you have a child that is not always interested, there is something for them to do also. During the first and third Saturdays of the month, May through September, you and your family can bring a picnic dinner and spend an evening in the garden. Who wouldn’t love that! So if you are bored and want to see the wonderful beauty come to the Chicago Botanic Garden and enjoy a great day.
Stop by Downtown Libertyville tonight from 6-9pm for First Fridays on MainStreet. You will find a surprise around every corner from a jazz band, balloon artist, a classical guitarist to hor d’ oeuvres and an art exhibit. It is the most entertaining way to shop and see what is happening in downtown.

Swing into the Citadel Theatre inLake Forestfor their rousing rendition of Ken Ludwig’s hilarious, Lend Me a Tenor. The play takes place in 1934, when world famous tenor, Tito Morelli is scheduled to perform but goes missing. The Grand Opera Company General Manager coaxes his assistant to imitate Morelli and soon thereafter the farce spins out of control. Lend Me a Tenor is guaranteed to leave you teary eyed with laughter. Showtimes are Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm.
